The NYC Kick off Reception for the film was well attended and celebrated by many including some of the east coasts most prominent equine welfare groups such as the ASPCA, Equine Advocates, NYCLASS and more. "We are so pleased for the wide showing of support," said Katia Louise, WFLF. "We are looking forward to the prospect of collaborating further with these groups and others as we work to get this important message out to the masses."
Wild for Life Foundation is pleased to congratulate the lucky new owner of Peter's artwork; Valerie Angeli of the ASPCA! Valerie is also an avid supporter of "SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES".
Fifteen-year-old gelding Bobby II Freedom, a New York carriage horse was days from death in PA, before Equine Advocates brought him to sanctuary. Peter Max volunteered to paint a portrait of the horse and Peter's portrait of “Bobby II Freedom” is featured in the film "Saving America’s Horses: A Nation Betrayed". When news came that the film was scheduled to open in NYC, Peter and Mary Max graciously offered their art studio to host the reception in celebration of the event. In effort to raise more support, Peter generously created a brand new portrait of Bobby II Freedom to auction off at the reception for the film.
