Ambush and Assault against America’s Rescue Horses

Thursday, January 19, 2017, Riverside, CA – The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) was unlawfully ambushed by a crowd of approximately 15 - 20 individuals who came to its equine rescue facilities in Riverside on Tuesday, Jan 17th.   Riverside County Sheriff Department dispatched three Sheriff Units in response to WFLF's emergency 911 call for help.

The gang of perpetrators was reportedly led by Mrs. Jackie Autry who had also invited local news reporters. The rights of the Wild For Life Foundation were violated and several crimes were committed by the unruly group of suspects whose intent was to trespass, harass and steal WFLF's rescue horses, and maliciously defame WFLF in the process. In an attempt to justify their ambush, Ms. Autry and several others went on record with numerous false allegations against WFLF while speaking with the authorities and the news.

Upon the Wild For Life Foundation's presentation of the true and accurate facts, together with WFLF’s substantiated documentation, the Sheriffs’ team told the Autry gang to leave the area.

“We are not sure why they are doing all this, but we do know one thing for sure,” stated WFLF President and Founder, Katia Louise. “What they are doing is 100% contrary to the health, safety, welfare and future of the very animals that WFLF serves to protect.”

The Wild For Life Foundation would like to thank the Riverside County Sheriff Department for their protection. “Quite frankly, we had expected a bit more from Ms Autry, by way of honesty and integrity,” added Katia Louise. “We have unfortunately been very disappointed by her. We will not allow these people or anyone else to hurt or threaten our horses, or interfere with our mission to save, protect preserve and defend America’s at risk horses from danger.”  WFLF’s Board of Directors is considering proper legal recourse and estimates that its course of action will demonstrate itself within about a week or so.

Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF) is a federally registered grassroots volunteer based nonprofit charity established for the prevention of cruelty to animals with a focus on animal welfare and the protection of wildlife. Among our greatest concerns are imperiled wild horses and burros, abused, neglected and slaughter bound wild and domestic equines, and inadequate standards of protection for America’s equine population as a whole. WFLF works in conjunction with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and provides emergency and transitional shelter housing and primary care for abused, neglected, injured and homeless animals in need. The WFLF promotes the conservation of wild horses and burros on their Native lands and the preservation of natural ecosystems and wildlife. We vigorously work to save, protect and preserve abused, neglected, displaced and slaughter bound wild and domestic equines, and educate to raise compassion and improve the standards of protection for America’s equine populations as a whole.
